Characters were poorly developed, sometimes to such an extent that it weakened the plot. He definitely had a good idea, but perhaps needed to spend a little more time developing it. It's depressing when a reasonably good author allows his or her technique to become so slip-shod just because their name will sell the book for them regardless of its quality. >>By Kath Michael Crighton really needs to get his act together.
