Discussion: Matthew Stover

Traitor: the flat-out best SW book in ages. I got so much out of that book that I wished Matt had written a SW trilogy instead. Finally, depth to the Jedi (?) training. I'd love to see him do some Tales of the Jedi type stuff. Awesome. I read the book cover to cover last night.

Great author! I thought his style was extremely original compared to other SW authors. Not only did he captivate with a fast-paced plot, but he included several writing techniques many Sci-Fi authors skip. Symbolism was clearly evident with the association of collors to certain aspeects of life, such as the colors: white in relation to pain and red relating to rage. Not only that, Stover incorporated a good deal of philosophy and "big picture" thinking, which in turn entices the reader to do the same. Such thought provoking text provided a great base for readers to move into a deeper level of the Star Wars universe.

Traitor saved the NJO for me....I was finding myself less and less interested in the whole series, but Traitor saved the story. I really found it fascinating and read it in two days, which is rare for me.

GREAT book!
