What other books has Russel written?

The book is the story of a Jesuit sponsored expedition to a planet of Alpha Centauri. Its chief theme is the struggle of understanding/ loving God, who seems both to cherish and torture us in equal amounts, according to a scheme of His own. Those whom God loves He destroys. God is utterly silent, and pulls and pushes the soul into the form He desires.

The tale is continued in "The Children of God", Russel's second novel.

This is a very confusing book with too many pages between its covers - half the information would have been enough. It is boring and has too many characters without a purpose. It is simply not a good book.
