Discussion: Lord Of The Rings

its great

Great doesn't even begin to describe it. A classic sounds better.

I think it's incredible that this page has so little discussion going on! I guess all the Legolas-phsyco-obsessive gals are on the movie board. Well and good with me!
I just finished reading TTT again. Every time I read those books I see more. That's because I tend to skim without realising it. I had a question.... what was it? Hmm..... I'll remember and come back...

If only the Legolas obsessive girls could read and fully appreciate the time and and heart put into these books. There is no offense to Orlando Bloom for his acting, it is just the craze throughout schools that taint the effect the movie has had on many others. I myself didn't start reading the books until the movie came out, but now, after seeing all three, and reading all three...I have now added more to my Jrr Tolkien book collection with the Silmirillion, and Unfinished Tales.

I LOVE LORD OF THE RINGS
i've read all three books at least five times each and i am still surprised by some of the more minor story lines
People have asked me how on earth i can read them so much, but it really isn't that hard.

oh by the way
i am also a crazed legolas fan girl
lol

i'm considering reading tolkien but i'm not sure where to start: the hobbit or the fellowship. What do you think? I don't think i will be a real fan, so prabably i should just jump to the fellowship. Or is the Hobbit really great and not to miss and essential?

i think that you should start with the hobbit because you learn how bilbo got the ring and some other stuff that will help you understand more of the lod series. the hobbit is also a very good book.

Its not really essential though.
