Discussion: Lian Hearn

I thought this book was very well written. I was very emotional at the end of the novel when Takeo did not marry Lady Kaede...this was very upsetting...very.

I just finished Across the Nightingale Floor and really enjoyed it. I was very surprised by the climax and how the author ended this book. Now I have to find the next books in the series. Hearn is a wonderful writer. Evocative and poetic.

I wish people would warn about spoilers.

I'm getting near the end of Across the Nightingale Floor, and it's really, really good. I think the style seems slightly forced and not quite right sometimes, but the story is brilliant, and so are Takeo and Shigeru and Kaede. This is like His Dark Materials all over again (just not quite as good).
