i loved the book! but just one point i didnt understand- at the end of the book when Reuben was with his father after they had been shot, his father said 'take care of swede', 'work for roxanna' (which are self explanitory) but what i didnt understand was this; 'tell davy... soon... very soon' i was confused as to what this was in reference to? if anyone has an answer!!

Woderful, magical book, no doubt. Now, I think "Tell Davy" means that Reuben should tell his brother that he knows there is life after death and Davy must believe too. "Soon... very soon" is what the father says when Reuben doesn't want to let him go. Jeremiah is saying that soon they will be together again, when Reuben dies (of course it's not that soon for Reuben for the father is already measuring a lifetime by the standards of eternal life). Boy, I love this book!
