I've read a lot of books about vampires, but this series is the best ever. I can hardly recall ever reading about a tougher main character in a series (at least not a female one!). Laurell writes so well that I get caught up in the stories and forget that it's just a book. I love an author that can do that. I have also enjoyed the first Merry Gentry book.
