Anne was good, but Emily was much better...Anne was too perfect, you couldn't relate to her, sure, I know she was an orphan, but agter she moved in with the Cuthberts her life was pretty good, and she lost her sparkle. I just felt like after the first book, there was nothing left to write about.

Can't get into the books! For goodness sake. They are fantastic, I and my daughters read them over and over again. Nothing on screen can match the description of how Anne felt when Gilbert was ill.
Before the film (or the movie if I must) there was a television series in the UK around the late 1970's. Kim Braden played the part of Anne and Nicholas Lyndhurst played one fo the twins. NL is now one of Englands most well known TV actors. Butterflies, Goodnight Sweetheart and, of course, Rodney "the plonker" in Only Fools and Horses. I think that the series was better as it explored the relationships in much more depth and the woman who played Mrs Lynde was fantastic. I would suggest you try again. The books are fantastic.
