I just recently bough the whole series of books he wrote about bats. Silverwing, Brightwing and Firewing, I think. They were very good. He isn't my favorite writer though. My favorite is actually an online writer. I like his bat books mainly because it is something different. It's not everyday you read a story where the main characters are bats. >>By Obscure Sanity Kenneth Oppel's best book was Sunwing! The others were good, too, but nothing on #2 in the series. >>By raspberry_juice Even though written for children, his books explore issues more deeply than what meets the eye. I have not read any of his books except Firewing, but the creativity and thought makes me think very highly of him. He probably took on a different path for Firewing, focusing less on adventure and more on moral issues. (such as life or death, who is god) That could have disappointed many readers. He's Canadian and from Toronto! Even my friend from Singapore heard of him. Don't have that many notable Canadian authors around, do we? >>By Cedrlc2
