Discussion: Jonathan Lethem I just finished reading Fortress of Solitude. This is my first time reading J Lethem. Loved the book. Very good writing and compelling story. I would be interested in hearing interpretations of the magic ring. Was it real? Did they really fly? Become invisible? My gut tells me no, but I am having trouble coming up with a metaphor. Also the flying and invisibility were so critical to the direction the action took, and so artfully woven into the action....it is hard to believe that they did not actually fly or become invisible. >>By clsmmr
