In 'Sons of Fortune', who gets to become the Governor -- Nat or Fletcher? My guess would be Nat, as he was standing to the right side of the Mayor ("...as befitted their political persuasion.") I assumed that Fletcher had called heads (... but then, he always called heads.) like in the debate with Mrs. Hunter and during the football game and it did come out heads for sure. But, does Nat also "always called heads") or was there any incident in the book where Nat flips a coin?

In 'Sons of Fortune' I got the impression it was Fletcher who became governor. In the last paragraph it reads the mayor turned around to face the two men. "He smiled at the man NOW standing on his right..." , the mayor was now facing Nat and Fletcher, instead of standing between them. So the man now standing on his right, had been standing on his left before, hence the winner is Fletcher. Or so my irrational logical thought

Re: in sons of fortune who gets to become the governor
I agree with Isis on this one that fletcher became governor for exactly the same reasons she has stated.
does anyone know of any other author's who are simular to Jeffery Archer in class and in their story telling, I would very much like to know of any

Can anyone tell me if Archer's short stories are any good
>>By scuderia
Not sure if anyone is interested, but Phillip K Dick wrote a novel called "The Transmigration of Timothy Archer" which is VERY loosely based on Jeffrey Archer. It's extremely interesting and grapples with Archer's life from a fictional yet perhaps psycholigically valid standpoint.
