I can't get enough of her wisdom. I thank God and the heavens and earth for bringing such a gifted treasure for us to enjoy. There are truly no words to describe the impact she had on my life. I can read her works over and over and gain a different meaning and appreciation each time her words cross my sight.

I have been reading J.California Cooper books (over and over and over again) since I was thirteen, I am twentyfive now. Every story has my mother, my aunt, my cousin, the man on the corner and in the office. Her stories are the soul of every folk. Thank you for enriching my life and saving me from a many of would be boring hours.

I could not put the book down. Once I started the novel I did not stop until it was finish, and then I was dissappointed that it was the end. I appreciate short stories because they almost most seem like diary entries, and that is the way that I like to write.

I am in love with her books. I am in eleventh grade and am doing my Seminar on J. California Cooper, where we have to do the life and times of the author and also lead the class in discussion about her works. I found it exciting that one of my favorite authors was on the list. Hopefully, I can encourage more people in my age group to read and be interested in books.

My first book I read of J. California Cooper was Some Love, Some Pain, Sometime. A companion and myself were on our way to Myrtle Beach, SC and his mother had the book and told me to read on our way down, and ever since that I have been hooked. I have turned 3 of my friends on to her writings and they all love her.

J.California's books are so simple yet they have such a powerful message that sometimes it's hard to believe that something so profound can come from language that simple...Over and over again she proves that she can take the short-story to a new level by using a diverse mixture of characters to tell a story. I have read her individually and in a group and each time I want more.
