Great stuff.

I absolutely loved this book, especially "Mavis for President." She writes with precision, respect and a lot of humour about things that I think about.

It was touching to read such a sincere and comically dry voice. I find the beauty in it's simplicity. And most importantly, it made me laugh. Literally right out loud! Especially when reading "The Test", mostly because of the realization of how likely something like that really could happen.
It was especially refreshing to hear a first-person perspective from the queer community (from the female origin) that was not ravaged in a den of debauchery, drugs, permiscuous sex, and utter hopelessness.
I would call Ivan as a writer and character as pure, open, rugged, natural, and beautiful as those high desert plains, mountains, and valleys that are a part of her life and road trips, and that characterize and represent the true beauty and diversity of our North American continent. One who has endured a lot through life yet still remains strong and unjaded.
