I was wondering what would be the major theme of the short story The Bound Man. Is there anyone who can help me with this. Thanks.

The major theme as I see it in "The Bound Man" by Ilse Aichinger is the concept that although one may be physically inhibited, whether by choice or otherwise, one still has the ability to chose how one will react to that disability. Will I use it to my advantage and gain from it or will I allow the frustrations I feel about it disable me further?
