Ok i was wondering for all you people who have read Brave New World if you could help me! i am trying to write a paper about the allegory, bidungsroman and existentialism in BNW any help would be appreciated

The main existentialist idea is that we can be existing as a alpha, beta, gamma, delta or epsilon; our judgement fogged by television, failing to mature in spirit, fitting into a world that we fail to push back against, strickly due to lack of person drive.
The savage could just as well be the person in the allagory of the cave that looks out into the light, only to killed.

bildungsroman: didn't know this word existed before I looked it up. But I think it was comparing the Savage who was unconditioned to those (practically everyone else except for those in the Savage enclave) who were Pavlovian conditioned (e.g. the babies being electricuted when holding flowers [I think that was right] so they grew up hating flowers).
allegory/existentialism: the a, b, c d caste-like system mimics current socioeconomic structure of most Western societies (e.g. The High, The Middle and The Low -> [generalisation] the managers, middle management, the unskilled labour)

I've read Brave new world and it was great, can anyone suggest some more Huxley for me to read next?

i suggest doors to perception. makes good reading.

by the way while reading doors of perception, should be checked out william blake, william wordsworth, samuel taylor coleridge and some other romantic poets of the english literature.

It is interesting comparing the distopia of B.N.W with his utopia island. In B.N.W they have their drug/religion which is soma used for socal obedience and in island they also have their 'dope'. In the latter however the aim of taking is for religous insight and maybe as part of a ritual.
The other main similarity I found was the eight-year-olds who visit Linda for 'death conditioning' (B.N.W) and the children of Pala who go to experience many deaths and births in their childhood. Prehaps he is making the point that is the context of the society which can change the meaning of these events
