Discussion: Guy Murchie

In 1983, I met Guy Murchie at a seminar on getting one's work published and was struck by his presence and, at the same time, his lack of ego. He was one the paradoxes that he so frequently wrote about. A huge frame of a man, nearly 6'5", with a white shock of hair, ready to laugh and smile, never insistent of his self, with some of the greatest knowledge and insight that comes from that of understanding the self, hence his remarkable insight into what it means to experience life as a human: a true adventurer. Truly, a man of the age, capable of being comfortable wherever he would happen to be on the face of the planet at that particular time.
