I'm type-happy tonight! I'm here to say that the whole concept of the Abhorsen trilogy is my favorite thing, my favorite thing being death! Death is cool, especially in Garth Nix's books, with the Nine Gates and all that. If you couldn't guess, my favorite bell is Astarael. But it'd be cool if Astarael was the smallest, and Ranna the biggest, then Mosrael as the next biggest, then Kibeth, then Dyrim, then Belgaer, then Saraneth, then Astarael as the smallest. So basically they should all be switched around, in my opinion. It'd be very cool if the Weeper, carrying all the cool and dangerous powers was all small and tiny. Anyway, I think it would be cool to be a necromancer. Even if I was a Free Magic necromancer. Yes, it's true, sometimes I do cheer for the bad guys, if they're not stupid ones, like Hedge. I hate him. But that's probably cause I like Sam. Sam's cool. I like how Lirael's a Remembrancer. I like her mirror, though I think it'd be hard to look at a mirror and at Death at the same time. I'd probably suck at being a Remembrancer. I'd probably be a better Necromancer. I've already memorized all the bells, the order they're in, and their powers, so I'd be good at that. The bad thing about Free Magic is that it smells bad. Why can't it smell all perfumey and flowery? Or it could have no smell at all, so it'd be harder to tell if someone was using Free Magic. Speaking of Free Magical creatures, Mogget is the coolest! I like it when he turns into an albino dwarf and catches fish in his boat. In that part he reminds me of Gollum. I like the Disreputable Dog a lot. My friend Abbey got a new dog named Tweek, and somehow Tweek reminds me of the Dog. Maybe cause he so frickin friendly, and smart looking at the same time. OK, so maybe he's not so smart looking, but I can pretend, can't I? Anyway, here's something random: is Garth Nix done with the Seventh Tower trilogy yet? There are supposed to be seven books, aren't there? I've only seen 6 of them. Oh well. I'll read it eventually. Actually, I've only read the first three. They were good, but not nearly as good as the Abhorsen trilogy. Nothing can beat that, except for Philip Pullman's His Dark Materials trilogy. Maybe.

garth nix is sooooooooooooooooo cool!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :) i got the tape of sabriel out from the library but when i was halfway through i went on a school exchange 2 italy and i asked one of my friends who had bought the book but hadn't got round 2 reading it yet (my friends are like that with books) and i read the whole thing in italy, then i listened 2 the tapes in edinburgh! then i had exams tho, but after a different friend lent me lirael,n i think theyre both gr8! the reason jk rowling has so much fame is not because her books are as good as evry1 says they r compared 2 evry1 elses it s just because of her boo hoo cry baby story that she used 2 b sooooooooooo poor. (not that her books arent good tho, i just think she gets way 2 much credit! and wot kind of books do u read any way anonymous?

Garth Nix's books are amazing. I have read almost all his books. They are all origional in plot. I first started to read his books when i started the seventh tower... ( By the way don't just get the first book... you will regret it.) I could not stop reading. The thing is the editors should of put all the books in one big book. The books just ended like each book was ripped out of one big one. But books like the keys to the kingdom could be put together, but if it was all put together... it would be one BIG book. SO ALL OF YOU OUT THERE READ GARTH NIX!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i was in my local library and the cover of Sabrial caught my eye. the charter mark in flames on a white background. sitting next to it was Lireal, with another vivid charter mark ablaze. i decided to get both of them beofre i even knew what they were about. sson after reading sabriel i was on the look for the third book, abhorsen. luckily i found it before i finidhed lireal otherwise i think i may have been frantic considering the cliff hanger!
Garth Nix takes you to a place of fantasy that also has a sense of realism. you get intensly attached to the characters that the books are obsesive.
my next task is to find these seventh tower books or anything else by Nix.
for any of you who havnt read garth nix, seriously you are missing out!

TO WHODAD!!! the adult version is no different then the normal one but it is called adult because they want to spread the series to adults, so they will be put in the normal fantasy section instead of just the teen section.

I've really enjoyed the world Garth Nix has created. You wouldn't think that the 20th century and mideavel times could ever mix, but Nix has done just that: and it works fantastically for him in his 'Abhorsen' series. These books are supremely written and are a joy to read for anybody.
