What is your favorite story of hers? Does anybody know the name of the short story she wrote about a family taking a trip and a twist of fate has them confronting a criminal? I read it in high school, so I don't remember the details.

Mcolette, the story is A Good Man Is Hard To Find, and can be found online here:

Flannery deseves more literary discussion than term paper help . She was a devoted Christian who wrote some of the most scathing attacks on religious fanaticism and dogmatization , a wickedly funny satirist and puncturer of pretension , and as pointed with a sentence as Hemingway or Buk .

Able to gaze into the human soul and describe its strengths and frailties with utter, sometimes ruthless clarity; to point out how civilization/religion/ society erode humanity

Flannery O'Connor is amazing. I first read "A Good Man Is Hard To Find" last year in school and it just blew me away. I can still remember that last line....still gives me shivers, too. I've been devouring her work ever since.
