Edgar Rice Burroughs

I think that burroughs was one of, if not the most, imaginative writers in the english language. Many people don't know that he invented whole worlds and populated them with diverse peoples, cultures and fauna. One even existed inside of the Earths shell. Pellucidar was a paradox in that it had greater land area within the earth as that on its outer surface. The area and location of the oceans on the outside was mirrored by land inside, hence a larger landmass inside. Its sun hung in the center so time did not pass conventionally, i.e. day vs night, so plot lines became marvelously intertwined. Who else has been more creative?
