>>By Ninjawoman

2-18-05 newsletter.......

His best one, yet, I'd say.

Never read any of DF's stuff, but after that description of the Littlebirds and Apache's, I think I'll have to.

>>By Majorette

This is where I saw the info! Thanks Maj. I promise you will enjoy his three books too, just read them in order, biog first.

Keep up the good work Mr. Falconer, those newsletters are excellent.

>>By camban

Totally agree with Camban.

Personally, think that his fiction books are better than Mcnabs.

Great web-site, interesting newsletters, Keep them coming !

>>By spiketheprovo

Lilbirds and apache's, well i read the article as well maj and it was a terrifc piece of writing..I have read is autobiography and one of his fiction books and i must agreee with others in some ways his writing is much better than mcnabs, i was dissappointed with deep black has i found it lacked depth and also it missed out on the lack of action which did not make the pacing of the book very good compared to others.
Mr falconer is an amazing writer and i'll be adding more of his books to my library of thrillers.

New newsletter on the duncanfalconer-site.

>>By Swedish reader

Ah yes true SR... Never reading the author I do dare say that his news in Irag is more truthfull then what ANY media source or do I dare also say any sign-holder denouncing the war.

New authors are always fun to find and I do believe I am buying them up...Way to be with us Mr. Falconer!!!!!!

Mr Falconer is back in Baghdad, read his new newsletter !!

>>By spiketheprovo

It is official now, I am never flying again. Other then that, another well written report on how mad it is in that part of the world.

Stay safe D

People !! I call on you to end this torment that is making me argue with DF .. well almost. After all he is not a man to mess with , via email or otherwise.
What the f**k is Strattons first name ? My money is on Mike but his creator keeps telling me it is John ( yuch, but then again, what's in a name )

Help .. pwease ?

NW
p.s. i did consult other cources who tell me it is Mike but then came the last email from DF insisting it is John !!

>>By Ninjawoman

Are you saying that his first name is not referred to in the books? If it is, look for it, if it's not, make one up or do as you are told by Mr. F, or maybe like me he is known as 'Sir'.

>>By camban

Name is mentioned once .. that much i know. Can't find it yet .. have to read again * sigh * Then again, why am i arguing with the author anyway ? Maybe in book #4 it would be handy to have him visit his mother or something who will go "say Mike/John, what a nice bunch of flowers you got for me ! And I am not even dead yet !"

Thanks Cam and Spike for the help.
xx

There's a few authors I can think of who should take a hint from DF and actually do something for their fans, for instance Duncan's "letters from Iraq." The same honesty and character that you see in "First Into Action" is obvious in his website, and that means a hell of a lot.
Take it from a guy who runs a website, DF is really a cut above the rest.

>>By Just Jon

You are so right Jon, the only other author who comes close is Stephen Leather, his site is open and informative also: stephenleather.com

>>By camban

Wow! Great site, cam. The "getting published" section is particularly candid and useful.

>>By Ninjawoman

The Hijack, English version, page 335, right at the bottom, Stratton introduces himself to Manachem Raz, the Shin Bet agent..

'John Stratton, and this is Gabriel Stockton.'

>>By Lisle45

The Hostage, page 22/23

"Mike the boss hurried in chewing a mouthful of food (....)
'Where's Stratton?' Mike shouted as Graham left the room.....

>>By Lynn

Anyone know why The Hostage is also called The American Hostage? Which title was first and why change??

>>By Lynn

Might apeal more to the local crowd ? and YES we have a newsletter .. he must be bored overthere, they keep on coming and coming !! lol but i am NOT complaining !

See you around

>>By Ninjawoman

Just Guessing ,but perhaps its because the Hostage "Hank" was American and combine that wth Ninjawoman's last comment
