i loved it, though i was disappointed to see the stratton character have nothing to do with the book. But mallory does give it a more realistic feel, just being a marine.

Got the book last week, half way through now and I enjoy it very much. I thought I'd miss Stratton too, but that's not the case. I do understand the work title now, but I still think it sucked, The Protector sounds much better allthough I sometimes mix up The Operative and The Protector, they sound very similar. And this is worth mentioning because.......? ok, enough ramblings.

One reminder for Mr Falconer:
"But I’ll probably be back to the island next month and I’ll write a more detailed account of this most interesting place on my return."

Long month hey?? ;-)

>>By camban   (Friday, 27 Apr 2007 12:52)

Great, looking forward to it.

Finished The Protector... really enjoyed it!!

>>By Lynn   (Thursday, 3 May 2007 18:43)

Newsletter pidgons made it once again !! Hurray for the brave beasts who work so very hard to keep us in the know.
However this is not the normal ( what is normal??) up beat letter we have grown to love and enjoy. Must be the topic... oh yes that reminds me, better call the travelagent and cancell my see/drive holiday for Nigeria. Maybe Duncan can juggle another bizz adventure on the side and become a travelagent ? The only true safe way to see the world ? Duncan Tours will provide it!

>>By Ninjawoman   (Friday, 4 May 2007 10:05)

Newsletters up . had to buy a new whip, the last one was worn out.

>>By Rikky   (Friday, 4 May 2007 12:26)

What drives this man? I mean, he must have a few quid tucked away and yet he goes to those places, crazy? brave? addicted? Makes old McNab look a pussy with all that face hiding performance, and reviews of luxury hotels.

>>By camban   (Friday, 4 May 2007 17:06)

@ Maybe Duncan can juggle another bizz adventure on the side and become a travelagent ?
Wishful thinking Ninj?? :-)

Cam, you're too good a friend to hate you, or I would ;-)

The newsletter was a good read, perhaps DF should do a FIA follow up, seems he's got enough stories to tell. Not so sure though to call those people 'backwards and ignorant' for not moving on the western standards. As if our world is so great and safe?

>>By Lynn   (Saturday, 5 May 2007 15:04)

I finished the protector , ( I am a slow reader ) Mallory was a likeable charactor, would love to see a some pics of Tanseen though. Storey aside it seemed that it may have been a good insight into the life of a risk advisor.

>>By Rikky   (Tuesday, 31 Jul 2007 14:46)

You are a brave man Rikky, I gave up on the Protector. And is there any news in regards to newsletters yet pR-man ? You can always try nagging him for it. ;-)) Works wonders for me at home. hihihihihihihi

>>By Ninjawoman   (Monday, 6 Aug 2007 21:51)

You're just a Stratton-addict Ninj, there's therapy for that ;-)

Tasneen means 'spring in paradise' - so there you go Rikky ;-)

A new newsletter at last!

>>By Meee   (Thursday, 23 Aug 2007 20:03)

The picture made us wonder .. could Duncan start a cooking/recipies section on the site ? Sort of like "Food on travel " ?
Nice letter btw, it is getting more and more serious tho. I do miss the little jokes and the way he makes fun of thisngs happening around him. Then again, he was very busy. Maybe next time ha ?
Live in hope !

Ninja
p.s. I do not have animals of any kind that need watching, I do have slugs and snails and one toad in my garden

>>By Ninjawoman   (Thursday, 23 Aug 2007 22:25)

Just one toad? I can send you a few Ninj.
So what's on those plates?? Fish? Goat? Definitely a banana!

>>By Lynn   (Thursday, 23 Aug 2007 22:30)

BTW DF was translated into Polish.. here he writes about "Strattonowi" which is an "agentowi SBS"
