I started reading Donald Goines' books when I was in the twelve grade. I am now a college sophmore and I have read just about every book he wrote. I like his books because he portry\ays street life as it was then and still is in many places. Goines can be compared to Shakespear in the sense that, his writing still apply to life today, almost thirty years after his death and he is still inspiring youth through his works.

I am only in the seventh grade and I have read about four books by Donald Goines. His stories are original, and express the truth about the streets. He was a good and discriptive author, that made you feel as though you were in the book experiencing everything. Donald Goines is still teaching many of us African Americans the positivity and negavativity that takes place throughout the hood.

I started reading Donalds books while incarcerated, I was able to relate to alot of the street game/hustle, which in turn land me in jail. His books and his life inspired me to turn my life around quicker than he did, so I can be around for my wife and two children. To the Goines family, editors and publishers...THANKYOU

I was just recently turned on to Mr. Goines last year and have read a few of his book, exceptional writer. Also considering the conditions he was writing in is a remarkable feat. To all of you Goines fans, in the words of Whoreson, "pimp hard, baby"
