In Undeworld, De Lillo does not make any decisions as a writer. The opening scence of the film "Wonder Boys", starring Micheal Douglas, gives a wonderful descriptions of how a good writer knows that you cannot add everything you want to add in your texts. It the decions that the writer makes reagrding the text which makes it a work of art. De Lillo has forgotten this point, and takes advantage of the fact that he is already a prestigous writer, and he does not realise that he is setting low standards for up and coming writers.
