Diana Gabaldon

Forum

I have read Diana's "Outlander series" ( The Outlander. Dragonfly In Amber and Voyager) and am awaiting the printing of "The Fiery Cross" in paperback. Her books are very vivid pictures of the times and lives lived 200 years ago in Scotland and the Americas. She encompasses History and Romance in a style that makes it hard to put her books aside.

i enjoy Diana's book very much, but found The Fiery Cross dragged too long. The days seemed unending.

I agree with you Susana, love every book before "The Fiery Cross", bought it the first day available here. And still can,t finish to long winded, not Gabaldon's best. Drum's of Autumn, my personal favorite

My favourite is Voyager. I have read the whole series twice and am eagerly awaiting the next instalment.

I LOVE the Outlander seriers. It was a book i had bought for 2 dollars at a book sale, and i didnt realize how much i would love it when i cracked it open, it was just something to do on my train ride to and from work. i was hooked the first few pages in, shes a wonderful writer. Claire and Jamie are incredible characters, so well discribed and so true to themselves that you almost believe they must exist out there somewhere. I was soooo thrilled when i finished outlander and discovered when i kept flipping the pages that there were others and that the story was just begining. Im half-way through Drums of Autumn now, and i know ill be so sad to finish it, so im trying to savor it as much as possible. i hate finishing a good book, i feel like im saying goodbye to friends, as cheesey as it sounds :D
I reccomend to anyone who loves historical romance and beautiful writing to pick out the Outlander series, you wont regret it!
I even happened to see an older gentleman, maybe 40 yrs old, with The Voyager in hand, intently reading the last few pages and was tickled pink that a man could enjoy it too. I felt like telling him, '' wait till you start on Drums of Autumn!'', but i didnt lol
Read on!
