Discussion: David Viscott

did he really commit suicide? If so, wht events led up to this?

Risking is a wondrous book. His very best to my readings. Every line in it is sagacious. I did not know that there was speculation of suicide for his death...I thought his diabetes and ill health easthe explanation...Was I wrong? gorlickg@aol.com

David Died in 1996. He did not commit suicide. He died of a herat attack. He was 58 years old.

It was housekeeping personnel that found Dr. Viscott's body. He had been suffering from an undisclosed heart condition, and a heart attack is presumed to be the cause of death. Dr. Viscott is survived by his wife Katherine (from whom he was separated), and his four children. The troubled souls of L.A. will long miss his soothing voice and tough-love methods.

Mitch: thanks for this reply. The wording you used I am very familiar with from the newspapers...but at some place I recall the speculation re suicide..do not recall where unfortunately...Is it 100% confirmed that the latter is in error? Thanks...gary
