so, wow, I've only read the intros to the book...all the stuff beside the actuall book, and I am already amazed, and agree that it tis turly a heartbreaking work of stagering genius. I can hardley contain myself from becoming completely anti-social for the next couple of days, and finihsing the book.

Though I was all psyched up for Heart Staggering Work.....I found it incredibly disappointing. And seriously, I have been in San Francisco for over two months, and been to the east coast so I could identify with the locations... he just wrote way too much..... way too indulgent..... It was like a 24 year old got lucky with a publisher.... but on reading You Shall Know Our Velocity....I saw where the publisher saw promise.... not a great or fantastic book..but filled with promise...... if you like the style I recommend James Frey.... - k (i.a.g.t.b.e.a.b.e.)

I really liked "How we are Hungry"! It's perfect for those of you who are busy as heck and don't want to get too sucked into a novel. Short stories for the win!

Personally, I preferred Eggers' "How we are Hungry" over "The Heartbreaking Work of Staggering Genius". His work is cleaner and better developed. I found myself completely absorbed in the characters...great book!

Just finished "What is the What." I just scheduled a visit with two men from the Sudan in Grand Rapids, Michigan. I'm looking forward to talking to them about some of the things I learned from this book.
