Welcome cockney rebel. I'm curious, don't suppose you've recently downloaded a disk sent to you on your laptop? An old TW laptop perhaps? Apologies to those who are confused by this posting. All will become clear later!

>>By Sheba   (Saturday, 24 May 2003 01:18)

Confused not, nothing tangible to relate to, but curious as to how a disk is sent to a laptop.

Is this new top secret technology: on a par with Star Trek The New Generation?

>>By buddy   (Saturday, 24 May 2003 14:26)

Ah buddy, there are some strange things going on out there, some we just can't discuss in public like this...

...I'll send you the answer via telepathy (spellcheck req)

>>By Sheba   (Monday, 26 May 2003 00:16)

Yeah, can see the aka-aka-aka, but it's a tad noticeable even to idiots...Even the telepathy has its pitfalls when trying to apear foreign and worse with the foreigner not sure which country they're from - posting jibberish one minute and fluent English the next...

Jesus, anyone would think someone is desperate to imply serious activity on site. Way sad!!!

>>By buddy   (Monday, 26 May 2003 13:29)

Cockney Rebel - you've gone quiet...trying to figure if you're a former TW who once occupied A Game's old office? A simple yes or no will do, your id will remain a secret!!! If this makes no sense, then you're not who I thought you were and I apologise and ask how did you hear about the site???

>>By Sheba   (Tuesday, 27 May 2003 12:14)

Deans web-site has been updated, have you seen it?

>>By Sheba   (Wednesday, 28 May 2003 23:25)

Dean,

Try American publishers, I did and it worked. I'll have a book coming out there next year.

Some Amercan publishers are crying out for trans-atlantic novels = American hero or heroine with Brit Euro slant....

all the best & good luck

>>By buddy   (Friday, 30 May 2003 09:17)

hi hope dean gets published because his books seem really good and i emailed him and he seems a nice bloke

>>By christina   (Friday, 30 May 2003 10:15)

I really hope the book gets published soon !!
To any publishers: you'll be sorry you let this one go!!
Good luck Dean!

>>By Lynn   (Friday, 30 May 2003 11:55)

>>By Lynn   (Friday, 30 May 2003 14:49)

Geez, Lynn! First you're stealing my men, now you're stealing my growl! But I won't begrudge you the growl at all because I agree completely!

Note to Dean (when you visit here):

Beware! You have no idea how impatient and demanding we are! (You may come to regret Hoarwithy's referral!) If a publisher doesn't pick you up soon, we'll be coming to your house to raid your computer! VBG!

Very good stuff! Very much want more MM!

>>By am-i-binned   (Friday, 30 May 2003 15:27)

>>By Lynn   (Friday, 30 May 2003 17:51)

Oh good, Lynn! Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't it you who threatened me with the punishment hat over the mention of a simple banishment block threesome?... ;o)

Dean, consider yourself duly warned... be afraid, be very afraid!

>>By am-i-binned   (Friday, 30 May 2003 18:00)

I'll come along for the ride aswell....no sugar in mine ;-)

>>By Sheba   (Saturday, 31 May 2003 11:02)

I'm sure if Dean dropped by here, he would say thank you - no, a MASSIVE thank you - to all of you that are being so supportive in his efforts to get published, and he would encourage this forum to continue...

...I'm also sure he wouldn't mind a group of women banging on his door ! (Tea, Coffee or someting stronger?)

...that's only IF he ever drops by here... ;-)

>>By ?   (Saturday, 31 May 2003 15:29)

Oooooh! I like your "IF" way of thinking, Question Mark!

Hmmm, Question Mark... Mark... sounds familiar.... (gasp!) ...

Is your full name really Mr. Q. Mark Makken, close friend and associate of Mr. Dean Francis?!? If so, please let him know we're on our way and we'll meet you there!

(We'd be there even sooner, except Hoarwithy hasn't come back with the bus yet...we're starting to get worried 'bout him!) ;o)

>>By am-i-binned   (Saturday, 31 May 2003 17:07)

maybe hoarwithy is stuck in some kinda strange traffic jams!!???!!!

i will also go for something stronger than a brew thanks and chocolate still not the sandwiches

>>By christina   (Saturday, 31 May 2003 18:48)

>>By christina   (Saturday, 31 May 2003 23:08)

AIB - or should that be - AVSC (A Very Smart Cookie) ;-) I like the way you linked a 'question mark' with Mark Makken. Do you think it was really him dropping by?
We best keep saying nice things in case he comes back! VBG, VBW ;-)

>>By Sheba   (Sunday, 1 Jun 2003 23:37)

No clue, Sheba, since QM didn't actually 'fess up... so we can but hope... :o)

>>By am-i-binned   (Monday, 2 Jun 2003 02:58)

Sheba,
The GAME is up for me. It seems that you do have TELEpathy experience. The disk did arrive unexpected and is now loaded ok, but time will tell. I am trying to further the carreer of DF with a possible contact.

>>By Cockney Rebel   (Tuesday, 3 Jun 2003 10:48)

RE: Cockney Rebel - Thank you for putting my mind at rest ;-) and welcome to the forum. Don't be a stranger...

>>By Sheba   (Tuesday, 3 Jun 2003 13:52)

does anybody know if he is published yet i cant wait much longer?

>>By christina   (Friday, 6 Jun 2003 17:44)

Apparently he's still waiting/trying! It's a fickle business in publishing.

If you ask him really nicely, he might forward you a few more chapters to keep you interested....(don't tell him you heard it from me though!) ;-)

>>By Sheba   (Saturday, 7 Jun 2003 11:44)

DF EXCLUSIVE! Apparently sample chapters of FAIR TARGET are in the hands of an editor at Orion books called Kate Ballard. If you want to drop her a line to show your support for Dean (and promise to buy lots of copies!) I think her e-mail is kate.ballard@orionbooks.co.uk This e-mail is unconfirmed, however, her boss is called Malcolm Edwards, and this is DEFINATELY his e-mail address malcolm.edwards@orionbooks.co.uk

I don't know if it'll help, but it might push them in the right direction when reading the sample. I've sent my e-mail already - no response yet though!

Dean may or maynot thank me for this, but he was told recently by another publisher that the book didn't have potential to sell. Don't let Orion make the mistake of letting it go !!!!

PS Dean, if you read this you still owe me £20 (to be doubled if this post has a positive affect on publication)

>>By 2ic   (Saturday, 7 Jun 2003 11:58)

Thank you, 2ic!

Will write immediately! Will write immediately!

(mission is always repeated twice, right?) ;o)
