Discussion: Chip Kidd

The Cheese Monkeys was one of the most intelligently written books I've ever read. I've actually considered going into graphic arts since reading it, but I couldn't really hope for my own Winter Sorbeck.

I completely agree. Not only is it fantastically written, he has the perfect sense of humor to bring it alive. The characters are amazing but not so exaggerated as to appear stereotypical. I only wish for a movie...

Indeed. This book is an amazing piece of literature. I don't know about the movie idea, but I do wish that more people would read it. TELL YOUR FRIENDS!!!

The ending is weird Chip. I like that.

In regards to Mr. Narcissist...I am a design major at the moment and let me tell you all of that book is true because I'm living it. If the idea of being a character in The Cheese Monkeys scares you in the least; if you thought Winters was intimidating or unfair; I strongly suggest you consider going into accounting instead.

Yes, the ending is weird, but I really don't get it. Can anyone explain.... or is it just personal interpretation?

we both read the book and liked it alot. However, we are unclear on what the hell happened at the end? What is with Himillsy's final project?

I think the book - the physical object the reader is holding in her or his hands at the time of reading - is the final project.
