| Discussion: C S Friedman C. S. Friedman's books are fantastic, particularly the Coldfire Trilogy. When I see a fantasy novel, I base it by comparing it to other fantasy situations. I've only read Black Sun Rising, but by my standards it is an outstanding fantasy novel. The magic system, as I like to call it, is pretty unique. Magic isn't some sorcerous mystery, its a nearly tangible thing, Fae.
