Anne Sexton

In the poem Sexton writes, "Her Kind," the metaphors of a witch, housewife, and adulteress are so complex and interesting and if anyone has a deep analysis of the specific lines that metaphorically represent these three characters I could use some help.

i think that anne sexton was a wonderful woman. i also have some psychological problems and i feel that on some level i can relate to the way she is expressing herself through her poems. anne tried to get help but just couldn't. her problems were to complex for the type of help that she was recieving at the time. if anyone disagrees then that is fine, this is only my opion.

Yes! she was fearless and honest to her feelings. I admire every single word in her poems. In "Starry Night", see the animal symbols she uses. serpent, dragon, beast....to show the anticipated fear, danger, problem or uncertainity. She is wonderful....She must have felt that the world around her is not that smart to live.

I have been reading the biography of Sexton and it has captivated me. She was a complex woman but very interesting. Her talent was endless. She had such a hard time living it's wonderful that she was blessed with this gift. She lived so much longer than I think she would have if not for her writing.
